About Teka SA
Building the future of creator monetization in Africa
Our Mission
To empower creators across Africa by building a fair, transparent digital platform that rewards creativity and celebrates our diverse cultures, languages, and stories.
We believe African creators deserve the same opportunities, recognition, and compensation as their international counterparts — without unfair revenue splits, payment barriers, or algorithmic discrimination.
Our Vision
To make Africa a global leader in creator technology
We envision a future where African creators have the tools, infrastructure, and support to compete globally — where talent from Johannesburg, Lagos, Nairobi, and Accra reaches billions of viewers and earns fair compensation for their work.
Why We Build Teka
The challenges facing African creators are real, systemic, and solvable
African Creators Are Underserved
Global platforms don't support South African payment methods (Paystack, local banks), charge high conversion fees, and set unrealistic minimum payouts ($100+). We built Teka to solve this.
Unfair Revenue Splits
YouTube takes 45%, TikTok barely pays creators, and Instagram doesn't share revenue at all. We offer a fair 50/50 split with creators.
Algorithms Ignore Local Talent
Discovery algorithms favor international creators with millions of followers. African creators with incredible talent get buried. Teka prioritizes local content.
Opportunity for Digital Economy
South Africa has 42M internet users and a growing creator economy worth R2.5B+ annually. Most earnings go to foreign platforms. We're keeping value in Africa.
Our Core Values
The principles that guide everything we build
Fairness
We believe in transparent, equitable monetization. Creators deserve the majority of revenue they generate, not platforms.
Innovation
Building cutting-edge technology tailored for African creators, solving real problems with modern solutions.
Community
Fostering authentic connections between creators and audiences, celebrating African culture and diversity.
Growth
Empowering creators to build sustainable careers, scale their impact, and achieve financial independence.
