8. Mobile App Permissions
Our mobile application requests the following permissions to provide core functionality:
📷 Camera Permission
Required to record and upload videos to the Platform. We only access your camera when you actively choose to create content. We do not access your camera in the background or without your explicit action.
🎤 Microphone Permission
Required to record audio for your videos. Audio is only recorded when you are actively creating video content. We do not record audio in the background.
📁 Storage Permission
Required to save videos, cache content for offline viewing, and access media from your device for uploading. We only access files you explicitly select.
🌐 Internet & Network
Required to stream videos, upload content, sync data, and provide real-time features like notifications and messaging.
You can manage app permissions in your device settings at any time. Denying permissions may limit certain features but will not prevent you from using other parts of the app.
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to:
- Provide the Platform and services to you
- Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations
- Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements
- Prevent fraud and abuse
Retention Periods:
• Active accounts: Duration of account existence + 90 days after deletion
• Payment records: 7 years (tax compliance)
• Content: Until deleted by user or 90 days after account deletion
• Analytics data: Aggregated/anonymized data may be retained indefinitely
10. Child Safety & CSAE Reporting
🚨 Report Child Sexual Abuse & Exploitation
Teka SA takes child safety extremely seriously. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) content on our platform.
If you encounter content involving child sexual abuse or exploitation:
- Use the in-app "Report" button and select "Child Safety Concern"
- Content will be immediately removed from public view
- The user's account will be suspended pending investigation
- Reports are forwarded to NCMEC (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children)
- Law enforcement will be notified when appropriate

Age Restrictions
Teka SA is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users aged 13-17 must have parental/guardian consent to use the Platform.
If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without proper consent, we will take steps to delete that information immediately.
11. International Data Transfers
Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside South Africa, including the United States (Google/Firebase infrastructure) and other countries where our service providers operate.
We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through standard contractual clauses, Privacy Shield frameworks (where applicable), and other legally approved mechanisms to protect your data.
